How do you launch a coaching program through blogging? Not an easy question to answer, but this is a complete guide to launching one! Coaching programs are a great way to diversify your income. Just know that no matter how much you teach people, they won’t get it. Coaching takes teaching to the next level. It’s hands on and provides a deeper understanding and learning for a follower. After you’ve created your coaching program, don’t forget that the most important part is marketing and getting the word out.
1. Create the coaching program first
The following are the steps to creating your coaching program:
- Do you have a skill that makes you money? Would people benefit from it? Can they make money doing it too?
- Make sure people would actually be willing to purchase it
- What are you worth?
- What will your coaching program entail?
Just recently I met with a good friend to help him create a coaching program. I always ask, “How much do you think you’re worth?”. It’s a great question. If you believe you’re worth it, then charge it and people will pay it. Tony Robbins charges $1 million/hour. Are people paying it? You bet they are.
What will your coaching program entail? A friend of mine charges $5,000 for 1 full day of personal one-on-one coaching. And.. you have to fly out to her house. Maybe you don’t want to charge that much or be one-on-one, but here are a few options you can use: phone call and skype.
2. Gather testimonials both offline and online
The best way to get ‘beta’ testers is to offer a limited time only of free coaching sessions. I’d say give out anywhere from 5-7 sessions and record everything (videos, pictures, and screenshots). Afterwards, have them create a nice testimonial for you.
3. Begin building a list
The list allows you to generate leads of interested buyers. You can sell them related offers. You’ll need to answer this question: “What other offers would these people be interested in?” You’ll need to place an optin box on your website and have an auto-responder service in place. Your optin box sells the free giveaway. The giveaway is the bait to get their name, email, and possibly phone number. Your auto-responder service sends them the free giveaway and drips them information over time. You create the information to send them and once it’s uploaded, it is done automatically.
Your free giveaway could be a free report like, “How to get started with selling on eBay”. Here are a couple of suggestions: don’t give away the farm, but offer value and tips that they didn’t already know. I’ve found that people still have questions and the coaching program takes their learning to the next level; as it is personal and provides a deeper understanding of the concepts.
Another way to build a list by creating a capture page. Keep it really simple. Here are the essentials to an effective capture page:
- Have a picture of your free report on the left
- Benefit oriented copy (What will they gain from reading this free report?)
- Brand signature
- Optin box on the right hand side (Ask for email and name. Make phone number optional)
4. Market your coaching program
There are a few powerful ways to do this. Create a page on your site that sells your coaching program. Talk about what you’ll help a buyer achieve. Tell them how they’ll be coached. Include your testimonials on this page. It works wonders. Then you can either have a ‘buy now’ button (through PayPal) or have a form that they fill out. Once you start generating leads for your coaching program, call them and get started.
After your page is set up, you can do 1 of 2 things:
- Drive traffic to your splash page
- Or, drive traffic to your coaching page
Among the many ways to drive traffic, you most likely want fast results. To get your first ‘beta testers’, just send out an email to your list notifying them of an opportunity to try your coaching program for free. Take the first 5-7 that respond and start. After you’ve completed everything in this guide, start driving traffic to your splash page and coaching page through solo ads and article marketing.
