When it comes to making money online or side hustling in your part-time, blogging is definitely one of the best opportunities out there. This is something I talk about all the time, as not only do I show people how to make money online with a blog of their own, it’s something I’ve practiced and preached for years now with amazing results.

To get started with a blog, all you need is some focus, a few dollars and a knack for writing some creative content. Even if you aren’t a great writer, blogging can still be a great opportunity for you to make some side money, as you can easily hire someone to write content for you. After all, websites and blogs are created to provide value to a specific audience, but they don’t have to say who actually owns the site or publishes the content.

This pretty much leaves you open to a whole world of opportunity. In the world of the internet and blogging… if you can dream it, you can create it!

However, it would be a huge mistake to think that blogging is the only way to make money on the internet, or even as a side project. To stir up some new ideas and ways for you to make some money on the side, I’ve listed a few of the top methods out there for you today. Each method below is unique in their own way, and some are already generating thousands of dollars for people who are willing to put in the time, work and effort to master each of these opportunities!

Side Hustling Money Making Ideas

1 –Become a freelance web developer or writer.

Not everyone is going to flourish with this trade, as creativity plays a part in web design (let’s face the facts: not all of us are creative). But if you think you have the chops for it, there’s plenty of ways to ‘teach yourself’ online. Many of the interfaces like WordPress simplify the code involved and make it easier to understand.

In addition to making some nice side money as a web developer, there is a whole world out there for freelance writing as well. This is something I also personally have an expertise in, as I’ve written and published over 3,000 articles over the past several years — many as a paid expert, while others are for my own site or guest writing on other sites. Check out this one article I did on profitable freelance writing tips, and how you can get started as a freelance writer in just minutes.

2 – Uber & Lyft. Can you drive?

Do you have a four-door automobile that’s no older than a decade? Not a felon? You’re in. If you’re willing to spend the time to do a talentless job and become a transport, you can bring in some vital extra side cash. Even if you just implement the driving for a couple hours after work, or to pick up passengers in traffic hours, you’ll still help your financial situation. The best part about these types of jobs is you can create your own schedule as technically you’re an independent contractor. If you’d like to learn more about how much you could actually earn on the side as ‘paid driver’, check out this article on the topic from NerdWallet.

3 – Create an ad-revenue website.

Rolling off the last suggestion, another option is for you to create a website that generates traffic and provides revenue via advertising. One of the most common ways to make money with a website or blog is through the use of Google Adsense, affiliate marketing or simply selling your own paid advertising on the site. However, for this to work, you are going to need to create something of value and attracts an audience to your site. While website creation and blogging are two of the cheapest ways to get started with an online business of your own, they can also take quite a long time to get started (and making real money).

4 – Launch an online course.

Are you an expert at anything? If you are, you might be able to create a business simply by recording yourself on video and writing up a few tutorials on how to complete whatever it is you might be great at. For example, if you knew how to create teacher lesson plans, crafts, or even an expert at blogging or online marketing, these are all services that people would gladly pay for.

Another important thing to note is that it’s now easier than every for someone to start an online course of their own, without the need to know anything about site design, video editing or even selling online. Services like Kajabi have mastered this process and made it super easy for anyone to get started in just minutes.

5 – Start an online “how to” guide.

Not all ‘content creation’ needs to be considered ‘blogging’. In this example, it could be a website, a PDF article or even a social media update. No matter how you are creating content online, there is always going to be an audience looking for how to accomplish something, or looking for answers to their questions.

With all of this in mind, there is a ton of money that could be made by providing helpful articles, solutions and how to guides to our world that is always searching for answers. Without diving into a ton of detail, this can all be accomplished through the use of WordPress, niche research and affiliate marketing. I walk through this complete process here, where I show you how to create a guide on jump training, then selling a product to your audience as a solution (through the use of affiliate marketing). Now think about any other niche topic, question and solution you could replicate the process with. Even something as simple as a cooking books website is something that thousands of people search for daily. It’s your job to find out how to best cater to that audience, then create content and monetization plan to make some money from it.

6 – Focus groups and online surveys.

This sort of income doesn’t have a reputation for being consistent, but it certainly does for being easy and available. Sign up to be a part of ‘paid’ focus groups or online survey sites and many of them will actually pay you for your time and opinions.

Now you are probably wondering why you would get paid for such services, but the answer is quite simple. Huge brands and advertisers need to learn about different audiences and get opinions on products before they launch them out to the rest of the world. The advertisers pay the survey companies for such research and services, then the survey company passes along some earning to their audience. It’s 100% legit and some people are earning hundreds of dollars per month!

7 – Offer help for anything.

Platforms like craigslist have become infamous for making money by offering help for anything someone might need. However, in most cases, craigslist doesn’t offer the personal profiles or rating systems that people would like to see when hiring random people to complete jobs in or around their homes. Not only is this a business model that is always in need and works well, there are also better solutions for getting work and building up a resume for yourself as well. One such example is TaskRabbit, which pairs people with those that needs things done around the house, while also providing both sides of the party with more information about each other, prior work/transaction history and top matches for handymen in your area.

A million ways to make money on the side!

There’s no shortage of ways to bring in some extra side cash. You just have to be willing to put the time in (especially because a lot of supplemental income sources take a while to build up traction), be creative, and stay consistent. Even just $300 extra per month goes a long way.

Be sure to skim through each of the methods above to see which might be best for you, and let me know if you need any help getting started with a blog of your own!
