SEO has been a hot topic since 2005.
It was easy to rank higher on google back then. Many did not know about it.
It was like you could add the keyword that you want to rank for at the beginning of the headline, and you’ll have higher rankings.
You could get 100 spam links and get higher rankings.
It was like pushing a key and you’ll have higher rankings, but guess what?
More and more people started to know about it. More and more people tried to hack the system, and they did, till google noticed all this “black hat” action.
Since google has released a lot of penalties like the panda, the penguin, the hummingbird and others, all these people were hit so hard that they lost nearly all their traffic.
You don’t want this to happen to you, right?
But you also want to know how to make your site better optimized so you’ve higher rankings without violating the rules.
Maybe you’ve started to research about it, and you’ll see a lot of posts out there with a lot of tips that you need to apply. But you’re worried that there may be any gray hat tips that may cause you damage on the long run, or you simply don’t have the time to apply all these.
And that is where this post comes. You’ll discover the things you need to better optimize your site, without the need of hours of your time to get it done, and you don’t need to worry about google penalizing you.
Are you ready? Let’s start with the first tip.
Start with an optimized design
Your blog design is your architecture through which google robots navigate your site, and decide whether or not they want to index you post.
I’ve talked a lot about design in the past 2 posts, so I won’t talk about it here, but I thought I should mention it here first.
Here are the 2 posts:
- HOW DESIGN COULD IMPACT THE SUCCESS OF YOUR AUTHORITY SITE
- HOW TO CREATE AN EFFECTIVE DESIGN (EVEN IF YOU’RE ON A SHOE-STRING BUDGET)

Optimize your blog for SEO
This could be a natural second step, huh?
After you have a great design optimized for google, you need to optimize your site even more.
There are always few more tweaks that you could do to get more traffic for your site without extra effort after that.

Do proper keyword research
This is something that many people skip over and they miss a lot.
Keyword research is essential not only to know which keywords will have more traffic and less competition, but they are essential to know how you readers speak.
Didn’t you know it? The secret to rank higher on google is to write for people and not for the robots.
So you need to do proper keyword research to know which words to include and so on.
Check this Mammoth guide from Brian Dean for the best up-to-date info about keyword research.
Optimize your authority content
After you have a great authority content, which is considered a must these days, and after you have a great headline, make sure you optimized it so that Google could understand what the post is all about.
So you’re not writing for Google here. You are writing for people first, and then you optimize it so that Google understand it too.
And that is where SEO copywriting comes in place. I won’t talk a lot about it here because Brian Clark wrote a great report that won’t take you more than 10 minutes to read on how to optimize your posts.
You could read more about SEO copywriting here.
And if you want a tool to help you do all this, then make sure to check out Scribe. Check this review to know more about it.
If you want to take it to the next level, read this…
Neil Patel, the SEO guy, have created an advanced guide to SEO. This is great if you want to take things to the next level.
If you’re still starting out, I don’t suggest checking it now. Just make sure that you’re applying the basic stuff first.
And remember, you won’t get anywhere if you don’t take action.
There are always SEO rules that Google can’t break. You see people like Copyblogger not hit with any penalty and they’re getting a lot of traffic. It’s because they are following the rules that will make it better for the readers first.
You can also do it.
You can rank higher on Google without the fear of losing your rankings later on.
Make sure that you don’t break the rules.
