What WordPress Plugins Should You Use on Your Blog?
One of the most asked questions by bloggers when they first start a WordPress blog, is what plugins they should install on their site? For those of you that don’t know already, “plugins” are applications that work from within the WordPress platform and make it easy for you complete complicated tasks with ease. The majority of plugins are free, but many developers have created premium plugins that will cost you money. The average blogger will be fine with the top free plugins that are available online.
In my “create a blog” case study series on BloggingTips.com I wrote a post on the recommended wordpress plugins when first starting a blog. They were the following:
– Contact Form Plugin
Giving your blog readers the chance to get in contact with you is a great way to expand your reach and bring life to your blog. Don’t just post your email address on your site, instead use a simple to setup contact form.
– Shareaholic Social Plugin
The best way to get people on your web site and sharing your content with others is to add social buttons to your blog. Shareaholic Social Plugin makes this process very easy and will place these great social buttons on every one of your blog posts.
– Related Posts Plugin
When someone is reading a post on your blog, there is a good chance they would read other ones just like it. Through the “related posts plugin” you can have other posts similar to the one that is being read, be posted at the bottom of each blog post.
– WordPress SEO plugin by Yoast
Blogging is all about creating amazing content and getting ranked in the search results. Improve your search rankings and SEO by using the Yoast SEO plugin.
These are just a few of the top wordpress plugins being used by millions of blogs across the internet. Be sure to check out WordPress.org to see what other plugins might be a good fit for your blog.
